Web host A2 Hosting has launched its configurable VPS hosting plans
Linux hosting provider A2 Hosting officially launched its new configurable VPS hosting service on Wednesday.
A2 Hosting says its customers can now choose the amount of RAM, disk space and data transfer they need, instead of the traditional VPS packages with preset resources. As resource needs change, customers VPS plans can be re-sized easily, according to the press release.
Last week, A2 Hosting released a redesigned website with easier navigation, its first update since 2008. The new VPS package and flex dedicated servers appear on the new website.

“Many times before purchasing a VPS, our visitors would contact us regarding the resources of a specific VPS package. Often they would want all the RAM included in a package, but they didn’t need all of the included space and data transfer,” Brad Litwin, A2 Hosting marketing manager said in a statement. “Understandably, they didn’t want to pay for resources they didn’t need. Now our customers can design their perfect VPS for their project and pay for only what they need.”
Scalable RAM, disk space and data transfer are appealing for hosting customers whose resource needs change quickly. Customers appreciate the ability to customize their plan so they aren’t paying for resources they don’t need.
Customers can choose their Linux OS, and can choose between CentOS, Fedora, Slackware, Ubuntu, Debian and Gentoo.
Each VPS includes the A2 QuickInstaller a tool that lets users SSH into their VPS to auto-install software with a single command. A2 Hosting says Tomcat, MongoDB and nginx are a few examples of software available for auto-install with the A2 QuickInstaller.
